You Are In Space // WOMBAT XL
This animation was projected at the Mount Stromlo Observatory for the 2025 Enlighten Festival.This animation takes its inspiration from Mount Stromlo's "WOMBAT XL Space Simulation Facility" and takes audiences into the mysterious world of the computers in the test lab. When seated at the controls, WOMBAT XL breaks down the layers of the space suit in a way that one may customise an avatar in a video game. Although surviving in space is no game, it is fun to imagine it as one! Music: Laura Harris
Limerence
Micro Crush is Lee Evatt's music alias, this animation was created to experiment with how different animation loops would match the with the different musical loops. Evatt was interested in exploring the relationship between line, colour, geometry and human emotions, taking inspiration from scientific and microscopic imagery.
Waiting Around With The Blues
"Waiting Around With The Blues" depicts Lee Evatt's mime character/drag king "Boy Gentle" and his "blues" who seem to follow him everywhere. Evatt made this piece to explore the feeling of waiting for someone who doesn't show up. The soundtrack he made is inspired by the Corillion on Canberra's Lake Burley Griffin.
Sentience
"Sentience" follows "Boyfriend 3000", an escort robot, he dissatisfies his human girlfriend as he can't be what she wants, a genuine human boyfriend. "Boyfriend 3000" gives up on his role as a robot and gains sentience.
Vampire
"Vampire" uses animated type and animated illustrations to make the lyrical content of the song come to life. Falling under 'Alex' the vampire's charm a blood donation van operator finds himself in a compromising position. Is their friendship merely a transaction or something more?
